Lari B. Masten is the founder of Masten Valuation, LLC, whose focus is on providing comprehensive consulting and expert witness services relating to business valuation, forensic accounting, fraud investigation, and financial forensics matters.  She holds several designations beyond her Master of Science in Accounting degree and Certified Public Accounting license: ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation), CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics), CVA (Certified Valuation Analyst), ABAR (Accredited in Business Appraisal Review), and MAFF (Master Analyst in Financial Forensics).



Ms. Masten has spent the past 25 years focusing on business valuation, litigation, and forensic accounting services as they apply to both private and public companies across the US and internationally. She has been in public accounting since 1987, and her consulting practice began in the mid-1990s.



She has performed business valuations, economic damage calculations, forensic accounting investigations, purchase price allocations, and goodwill impairment testing for companies operating in a variety of industries, including life sciences, personal/professional services, exploration and production of natural resources, manufacturing and distribution processes, real estate development and management, and agriculture-related service sectors.



She has been qualified as an expert witness in both federal and state courts. Her valuations, lost profits and damages calculations, and expert witness testimony have been for purposes of marital dissolution, estate and gift tax planning, damages, lost profits, bankruptcy, contract disputes, buy-sell agreements, purchase/sale transactions, goodwill impairment, Daubert Hearings, and related matters.



Masten, past Chairman and Member of The NACVA’s Executive Advisory Board (2007–2010; 2011–2014), is currently serving as Chairman of the Editorial Board for the Value Examiner, is a contributing member of the editorial advisory board to National Litigation Consultants’ Review and



the Journal of Business Valuation and Economic Loss Analysis is a Subject Matter Expert on the Business Valuation Advisories panel for developing guidance relating to Company Specific Risk Premium for the Appraisal Foundation, and is an officer of the Colorado NACVA State Chapter.



Ms. Masten is also very involved as a presenter and instructor in the continuing education and certification training for valuation and financial forensics analysts, and thus maintains a deep working knowledge of the historical constructs of valuation and financial forensics as well as keeping current with the changing professional literature on the topic.
